New Yaesu VR-5000

Anyone have any on hands experience with the new Yaesu wide band
receiver?  Wonder why Yaesu made it so small?  Only 7" wide.  The
Icom R75 is 9.5" wide and is a little too small for comfort.....
though I still love mine.

900 U.S. dollars....isn't that about half of what the R8500 goes
for?  and it goes to 2.6 GHz instead of stopping at 2 GHz like the
R8500.

I read that it has some shortwave broadcast stations preset into
memory.  Does anyone know how many?  Any idea of scan speed?  Sure
hope this is a good wideband.
