Help ID'in station, anyone?

Post by Gw kuddl » Sat, 25 Oct 1997 04:00:00

Thursday night (October 23, 1997), from my location in Oregon I pulled in a
weak Spanish language station on 530 Khz. The 7:00pm local time top-of-hour ID
mentioned three stations on which the programming was being carried. One was
WWRV 1330 in New York City, another was unintelligible on 530 (presumably the
one I was listening to), and the third was a station in the British West
Indies. Can anyone tell me the calls of the 530 station?

Thanks in advance!

There's a 530 in Costa Rica (Radio Rumbo). TICAL is the callsign, at
least according to 1994 WRTH.

It was most likely Radio Vision Christian in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
 They have religious programming.
Nice logging in Oregon, I have been hearing them here in Colorado also.
Also on 1020 khz at times you can hear another Turks and Caicos Is. station.

I believe the nominal freq for R.V.C. is actually 535 kHz.  (At least it was
in the past.)  If you're able to tune there, maybe you'll have better
 reception?

This is Radio Vision Christiana from the Turks and Caicos Islands. Heck
of a catch in Oregon. Almost all religious programming and much in
Spanish.
