The C.Crane AM/MW Twin Coil Ferrite Rod Loop Antenna is
a Directional Antenna; but it is not designed to be used
in a continuous Swing and Turn fashion like the Quantum
"QX" Ferrite Rod Loop Antenna.

The C.Crane usually works best for an individual who has
an AM Radio Station they want to receive {Tune-In} and/or
an AM Radio Station they want to Tune-Out.  Once you have
accomplished these two items simply mount the C.Crane in
that position and be happy.

For the most part the C.Crane AM/MW Twin Coil Ferrite
Rod Loop Antenna is a "Great Signal Magnet" for AM/MW
Radio Listeners who are in Signal Challenged locations
where AM Reception is difficult or getting a specific
AM Radio Station is very difficult.  For these purposes
the C.Crane works very well.

IIRC - The C.Crane AM/MW Twin Coil Ferrite Rod Loop
Antenna uses a 200mm (8") Ferrite Rod with Twin
{Balanced} Coils and the built-in Amplifier give it
about 20 dB of Fixed Gain.

INSTALLING - The C.Crane AM/MW Twin Coil Ferrite
Rod Loop Antenna
- While an out-side wall of the House is OK
- The Surface Plane of the Wall may not place the
Antenna in the Direction that you want it for the
best AM Radio Reception or to turn-out an unwanted
Radio Station.

TIP - Simply mount the C.Crane AM/MW Twin Coil Ferrite
Rod Loop Antenna on a non-metalic Braket under the Eaves
of your House or In-the-Attic
- Position the Braket for the best AM Reception and
Nulling-Out your strongest local stations if needed.
- If "Out-Side" is not practical then simply mount
the Antenna on the 'in-side' of a Window near the
center away from the metal edges.

THREE FOOT SIZE LOOP ANTENNA :
*  A Three Foot (3-Ft.) Diameter Loop Antenna would have
a much greater Signal Capture Area then the smaller an
8 Inch Ferrite Rod.
*  The basic Multi-Turn Loop Antenna is non-amplified.
*  The addition of a quality 'low noise' Amplifier
would make a larger size Loop Antenna a real performer.
*  Having the 3-Ft. Loop Antenna out-side would reduce
the Noise Levels from having the Ferrite Rod in-side
the House.
*  Being able to Rotate the 3-Ft. Loop Antenna at least
90 Degrees would be a great help in Peaking Signals and
Nulling-Out Noise.

FIXED "ON-TARGET" LOOP ANTENNA
"IF" - You are after a specific 'distant' AM/MW Radio
Station from a known direction and have the space
out-side for a Delta (Equilateral Triangle) Loop
Antenna then build a Six to Eight Foot Delta Loop
Antenna that is pointed in the direction of the Radio
Station.  Feed the Delta Loop Antenna with a Coax
Cable from the bottom corner that is fartherest away
from the Radio Station.  Use a Variable or Fixed
Capacitor at the feed-point to Tune the Loop Antenna
Spot-On-Frequency for that Radio Station.

A Six Foot per Side Delta Loop Antenna with Thir***
Turns (13-T) with a One Inch (1") Spacing between the
Windings should allow for the full coverage of the AM
{Medium} Wave Broadcast Band.

NOTE - One of these Fixed "On-Target" Loop Antennas
can also be set-up In-the-Attic when an Outside Antenna
is not allowed or doable.

1.  IIRC the "Enter Edge Length" is the Measurement
for One Side of a Four-Sided-Square.

Examples : Calculating One Side of a Square
using other Shapes :
*  One Square Side = One Square Side
*  Sum of the Sides of a Triangle
(S1+S2+S3) Divided by Four = One Square Side
*  Sum of the Sides of a Rectangle
(S1+S2+S3+S4) Divided by Four = One Square Side
*  Diameter of a Circle Times (x) Pie = Circumference
Circumference Divided by Four = One Square Side

2.  "Enter Loop Width" is the Measurement across the Space
{Accumulated Spaces} between First and Last Turns.

Example - Eleven Turn Loop with 25cm Spacing
has is Ten Spaces which add up to the Loop Width.
*  Number of Turns Minus (-) One = Number of Spaces
Number of Spaces Times (x) the Spacing (Gap) = Loop Width.
