Voice of the Knight(night?) 3/23/02 6925usb 0120-0139 OM gave ID as
Voice of the Knight(maybe its NIGHT).  Said for a QSL and photo of Op
with his Gay lover, write to Box 1551, Cornelia,Georgia 30531. Gave a
request line phone number 706-778-8606 and said to ask for Woody, that
his Mom would come get him and bring him to the phone, said that he
lives in ba***t with Patricia Mary and his boyfriend Rauol who they
share. 3/23/02 utc. 6925usb Very odd station, never heard before.
Mentioned FFFW, Fight for Free Woody and something (garbled) about
Youranchee?   SIO554. Very strong signal, excellent audio for
sideband.  Had clear strong signal like KIPM but not the signal
strength of KIPM.  Somebody went to a lot of effort to make that audio
sound so crisp and clear.

Wasn't Voice of the night or knight a pirate back in the 80s?

Yes, but early 1990's.  That was Lad who everyone hated because he always
made crude comments, sang along with the songs he played, & jammed other
pirates.  He eventually got busted after jamming some ham radio nets and
transmitting on 6840 kHz, at that time a busy numbers station frequency.

Is this the same person?  This guy make crude comments and sounded
pretty spaced to me.

I don't know.  Back in the early 1990's I was overseas, so all I know about
VOTN is what I've read.  I don't know of any existing tape recordings of
Lad, probably wasn't worth saving on tape.

There's a clip of one of his broadcasts in Andrew Yoder's book (I
forget the name even though I have it!!  Duh, I think it's "Pirate
Radio") which comes with an audio CD.  I remember reading that he was
13 when he broadcasted.

The latest version or the one he wrote a couple years ago?  I've got both
copies.
