Red Wave Radio

The Radio Shack DX-392 has a problem that mutes the sound when
scanning the frequencies.  Could somebody send me the mod to re-enable
the sound?  The Sangean 818CS is the same radio (according to 1996
Passport to World Band Radio), so if you have the same modification
for that radio it should work.  Thanks in advance.

Here's a post from '94 by Dan Mcintosh:

I just completed the modification to my DX-390.  To anyone about to do
the mod,  I would suggest that you simply remove the socket from the
connector housing (green wire, 12-pin connector) and insulate with
electrical tape.  This can be done by carefully pushing in the locking
tab and gently pulling on the green wire.  By doing this, as apposed to
cutting the wire,  you can restore the radio to original condition if
you ever need to return for warranty.
