Timex -Auto-Set- clock is not a WWVB clock!

I walked into Costco, and saw a $19.99 clock-radio with digital
tuning, model T301, which claimed to be "Auto-Set."

Well, how do they define Auto-Set? It was PRESET at the factory, and
comes with fresh alkaline batteries pre-installed. Since it has a
built in calendar, it automatically switches between Standard Time and
Daylight Savings Time. That's the extent of it! I double checked with
tech support --- and also by removing the batteries (and unplugging
the unit). BTW, it was 30 seconds off by the time I received it.

On the radio reception side -  in the evenings, here in NYC, 1010 AM
(WINS) is heard all the way up to 1040 AM... 1050 is a strong local
station... otherwise, I'm sure I'd still be able to here it there...
If I twist the radio just right, I can somewhat make out WBZ (Boston)
on 1030 AM... but I hear 1010 in any other position... I guess AM
radio performance is not it's strong point.
