Hi Dan.
Yes, that's the info I got with the geektools.com whois.
I later found out DoD has a whois server of it's own
and it apparently can be used to ping whole blocks of
IP numbers... well that's my guess anyway.
Kerio Personal Firewall has me stealthed on all ports
as reported by Steve Gibson's Shield's Up port scans
at grc.com https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
Look for the buttons "file sharing", "common ports",
"all service ports" etc, etc
The link is a copy/paste of the URL at that page.

Hi Sanjaya,

I had this same firewall installed on my computer awhile back, but it
suddenly started creating connection problems with my cable modem
connection. I could not get back online until I got rid of the firewall
completely. Have you ever had similar issues with your firewall?

Hi Jackie,

I've never had problem one with Kerio.
Sygate's firewall trashed my old laptop though.
Seems they forgot to mention that uninstalling
one version to upgrade to the newer one could
destroy someone's networking capabilities.
The fixes they suggested didn't work and I wound
up buying a new computer.
That was Sygate... not Kerio.
I have Kerio version 2.1.4 so I don't know the support
policies of your version. But here's the latest manual...
Kerio Personal Firewall manual...
http://www.kerio.com/supp_kpf_manual.html
And the knowledge base...
http://support.kerio.com/
Support page
http://www.kerio.com/support.html says
e-mail support needs a serial number from you
Try all of those and your ISP tech support
too.

Thanks Sanjaya, I may just try to download Kerio again and start over.
Somehow, I don't trust the built-in firewall protection of Win XP.

For the Mac users out there, the built in Unix firewall is quite good
and if you are more paranoid, NetBarrier is excellent, even allowing a
stealth mode that will not even respond to a ping.

Of course, nobody is hacking Macs... not enough of us to make it
worthwhile!
