For Trade: Sangean 505 for Sangean CC Radio

Post by D. Schop » Tue, 01 May 2001 07:15:20

Hi,

I have a brand  new Sangean 505 that I would like to trade for like
condition CC Radio. 505 includes carrying case, manual and box.

Reason for wanting to trade - my listening habits are changing and I find
myself listening more to MW than SW. I had a CC Radio and sold it and would
like to have another one.

Hmmm.... Seeing as the CC Radio is about 20 percent more expensive, I don't
think you will get a lot of replies.

Well, okay.  But if someone has the CC and wants the 505, there it is.  And
this is a much better trade offer than most, which are usually a piece of ***
computer for a tabletop receiver, or something like that.

I always appreciate the people that find the need to add comments about sales
that don't concern them. The days of reasonable men transacting deals between
themselves are gone. There have been many things that I have traded over the
years that were not quite equals on financial terms, sometimes gaining
advantage, sometimes willingly taking a loss for the convenience of the offer.

I have been in clothing stores in the Jewish area of that city in which I
live. (I mention the Jewish part since I had never seen this done elsewhere in
the city at a retail store, this is how business should be done)  Some of the
customers actually offer less money for the clothes than the posted price. The
bidding begins. This was the way of the flea markets and Ham Fests in the
past. Now many people reject a reasonable offer, claiming that they can get X
amount on E-Bay.

A curse on computers and so called modern ways (yes, yes, I'm using a
computer, obviously), they have removed the dignity of bidding.

That's where the stereotype comes from.  Jews are penny pinchers and it is in their
*** to try and "Jew down" a price.

I never understand why people get mad when people use stereotypes, or try to say
that stereotypes are not true.  Do these people think that someone just picks a
race at random and pulls a stereotype out of a hat for that race?  Stereotypes are
OBSERVATIONS from the MAJORITY of a race and are FACT.

For those idiots that say you shouldn't judge someone of a certain race by that
person's stereotype, ask those idiots this:

If you are swimming in the ocean and see a shark fin getting closer to your area,
do you judge the shark on it's "stereotype" of killing people, or do you say, I
will judge this shark on it's own merits, not ALL sharks kill people.   Or if you
see a rattlesnake in your backyard, do you run away from it because of your racist
stereotype views, or be politically correct and become friends with the snake?

Same with all stereotypes,  if you see a negro or mexican walking down a street, do
you walk towards it with your wallet and watch on you, or do you look for cover?

To get the thread back on track, I am the original poster of the message
offering the 505 in trade for a Sangean CC Radio. I still have the 505 for
trade. The Sangean 505 is in excellent condition with box, manual, and
carrying case.
