The following is, according to Joseph Feng, a standard solution to the
problem of static zapping coming through an antenna. This is a
particular problem on Sangean sets. I've added it to the FAQ that I've
been sending out. Anyone is invited to write me to get this new
version of the FAQ (which has other improvements), or simply add this
posting to it.

I would use the technique that is described for the Sony 2010: put aQuote:>I have a question about the static-zapping problems that Sangean and

couple of paralleled back-to-back diodes between the antenna lead and
the circuit ground(usually the same as the negative battery terminal).
This method has a wide applicability beyond just RF front ends.
Suggested diodes are 1N914/1N4148, available almost anywhere including
Radio Shack. The circuit can be found in the 2010 mods that get posted
occasionally:

( usually the power
bus connected to
the negative
battery terminal )
